Happy Book

Who would’ve thought that one simple question could cause such a stir? I’ve been trying to figure out the answer but it seems to trigger a lot more than I could possibly imagine. So I’ve decided to start another what I call ‘Happy Book’ and dug out one of my many gorgeous notebooks so I could start with a clean slate and lotsa blank pages.

I’ve chosen the bigger version of the Moleskine notebook that I normally carry with me in my handbag. It was a birthday gift and I had put it away in one of my house moving boxes knowing that one day it would be useful for a certain project. I intend to cut out pictures and glue them on the still empty pages along with notes that I’ll jot down.

The questions that started all this were: ‘what do you want in your life…’ ‘what is your goal…’ whilst following a method to ‘reprogram the mind’: picture yourself in the new situation as if it is a present one, not a future version. But I have so many goals and/or wishes that in order to make them real I need to put some kind of structure in the chaos.

Because of this I needed to start a new ‘Happy Book’… this way I can reorganise my thoughts by organising clippings, sketches and written affirmations. While working on this I suddenly realised that this might take a bit longer and might need a bit more effort and hard work than I first thought but ‘the plan’ is going to be a great one…

Mark my words! *wink*

  1. Oh yes, structure, I need a bit of that, and a bit less of chaos… Then again I never had any grand plan for my life and so far it hasn’t worked out bad :) Either way, I hope the Happy Book keeps you happy!

  2. Hi BC, hope you’re well! Did you get my email/ebook?

I never had a grand plan either when I was your age *hehe* I just studied and automatically ended up in the advertising industry right after so I never had to ‘think’ about things, it just happened. These days in order to get what I want, I need to come up with a plan.

My life has been far from the usual: meaning, others my age have kids, are married and are doing everything according to what society expects them to do. I’m a ‘rebel’ in that regard… but because of this I do need to plan… Hope that makes sense.

My ‘Happy Books’ help me to keep focused on my wishes and what I want in life, it helps me visualise where I’ll be in a day, month, year from now… so yes, they keep me happy :)

  3. Hello Sweet Zesty:

What a very good idea. A Happy Book is definately an idea for those of us feeling a smidge “scattered” in our thoughts. Okay, me – my thoughts too. I hope it works for you!

So do you ask yourself questions and then answer them in the book? Is that how it works?

    *hugs*

    Mon

  4. Hi dear friend :) I received an ebook along with mp3 files from a friend and ever since I’ve been listening to these through my iPod. It’s NLP in a way and about ‘how to think right and create your own future’ so the first thing that came up was the question of what you want for yourself (house, job, relationship etc.) and how you need to reprogram your mind and picture yourself having all this so it will come to you.

So to me when I thought of what I want in life, I came up with too many wishes that I need to organise: one is related to the other. In order to picture myself having this I need some kind of storyboard so I collect images from magazines and put them in my Happy Book, or I write down thoughts and wishes… It’s basically a way to get things clear to me, the core of my wishes. Once it’s clear to me I can work on getting them and turn my dreams into reality :)

Complicated huh? ;) It’s a bit like ‘The Secret’ slightly different, but the core is ‘the power of the Universe’ and how you can use it to make changes…

    Hugs back at ya! :)

  5. To know what we want is the essential bit to obtaining it :) Love the idea of the Happy Book.

  6. Yes I agree… but there’s so many things I want *hehe* And I’m still not sure what kind of job I would like :( Something creative… but what???

My Happy Book only contains things that make me smile ;) And it’s really nice to sit down and flick through it!
