I killed my taste buds licking stamps just now. I’m slightly recovered from the crime scene observation although still curious to know what was going on. I should be in bed but I had a terrible week of sleep; tossing and turning night after night. It’s best to spend a bit of time getting the stuff ready to send off tomorrow morning on my way to the GP.
Since I only received one xMas card from the Lowlands so far, I decided to send a few more than that to friends and relatives just to make a statement. The number seems to be decreasing each year somehow. I reckon sending xMas cards seems to be out of fashion these days. Or perhaps the stamps in the Lowlands have become too expensive since I left.
So I’ll only send cards to those who are close to me and relatives; my aunt and uncle up north, my uncle down south. Plus my mother and brothers but only because they will refuse to send me one and I will not sink to such depths myself. I spent half the weekend on fixing parcels, one for an ex colleague, one for my aunt, one for my mum and one for my little niece who is only 4 months old.
I’ve printed 104 photos for my mum and cut them all on the right size to fit a golden gift box, wrote a long letter with an explanation of each photo [mostly a description of my new life here in London, where we live, what the house looks like etc.], wrapped each of three packages of photos in golden tissue paper with a ribbon and placed them in the box.
I don’t care what will happen to the photos, I tried my best. A. said: you have made such an effort and put so much work into it, if that won’t be appreciated than I don’t know what else you could do. I guess I don’t have any expectations, or try not to have them since I will only become disappointed in the end.
Anyway, I guess what I’m trying to say here is that I will try my best to be me and won’t change my ways. I will not stop sending cards, any card… I will not stop sending emails, any mail just because I moved country or I do not share someone’s opinion, reasons… you name it. So there fore I’m now stuck with a nasty taste in my mouth.
Don’t worry it’s just the stamps… I ain’t bitching or anything ![]()

What The F@%^
Last Thursday when we came back from Lakeside there were two police cars sitting on the side of our street. One with blue flashing lights on, the other parked in front of our house. Tonight when I sat down to read a bit online, I heard some noise outside and had a look out the window, guess what I saw:

The police car again

Now what the hell is going on? I wish they would inform us, just to get all the spooky thoughts out of our heads. People start to imagine things don’t they, and I’d really like to know what happened. The police car is now driving around the block, there is one car on the left, parked with his lights on and the crime scene car is sitting there still with his engine running.
A guy came out of the car earlier, carrying some metal plates, talking to someone over the phone and then walking towards the police car. I didn’t see which house he went into unfortunately. He is now sitting in the van, light on, scribbling something down in a notebook…
Total suspense.
I’ve never seen anything like this, worse thing was a firetruck in front of my house in Amsterdam, with a fireman peeking thru my window, telling me not to worry but yeah there was a fire next door. I’ve never seen a crime scene team in real life, just the shows on tv actually, which I find quite interesting btw. So this is all new to me. I prefer watching the foxes near the park at night to be honest…
