Things are still a bit weird although he is there for me when things do get rocky and I am there for him when he has a bad day like yesterday… [Yes, he has really really bad days too, it takes two to tango and it takes two to trip on a bumpy road]. The other day when I was staring out of the window into the gardens I thought I saw something equivalent to a garden gnome. I’ve seen these things at garden centres in the Lowlands, they are rocks, or made of concrete and in the shape of some animal. But the thing was, I didn’t see it before so I thought to myself the neighbours must have bought it to decorate their garden. I still had a funny feeling about this rock so I decided to take a picture of it, telling myself I must have lost my mind taking pictures of rocks…
This is what I saw the other day:

Then a few days later when I had one of my bad days, feeling utterly sad and thinking about the whole situation, I found myself staring out of the window again into the neighbours garden looking for the rock near the little concrete bench. To my surprise [and confirmation of what I knew several days before, deep down, a gut feeling] I noticed that the rock had moved. Not just moved, it also was actually eating… Yes! A rock that’s eating… I’m not going insane and I took pictures again, so there you go, check them out below.

Turtle:
Mother Earth
By following the example of Turtle we can learn to ground ourselves in the nurturing and protective energy of the earth and to flow with its energies at a pace which assures completion of our tasks.
One of the lessons of Turtle is to slow down. All you have is time. When you don’t have time you’re dead.” Turtle, who lives a very long time and who has been on earth longer than any other vertebrate animal, has all the time in the world.
Turtle carries its house on its back, and when it feels attacked it withdraws into its protective shell. This can remind us that we carry within ourselves our own protection.
It is also a reminder of the importance of going within. We need to learn to withdraw not only when we feel threatened by the outside world, but in order to contemplate, to decide what our next direction will be.
Slow-moving, contemplative Turtle can also be described as grounded. When we feel as if things are happening too fast, or as if there’s too much to do, when we are great at starting projects and not so great at completing them, we can call on the energy of Turtle.
To be grounded doesn’t mean to be stuck in one place. Turtle travels very close to the earth and is intimately connected with the currents of Mother Nature’s energy. Because it moves so slowly it has the time to appreciate all of her creations.
So can we when we take the time that is always there, when we move more slowly along our own paths and enjoy the journey.
• Protection during any intense situation
• Those who have difficulty in being grounded.
• Those who feel disconnected from nature
• Those who are impatient or move through life in a hurry.

Stone Age Employer
I’m still getting slightly frustrated by my last employer, well I reckon ‘slightly’ is quite an understatement really… I’m so happy I made the decision to quit the job and leave the country, it has been the best decision ever. But, and there is a big but; I do miss my colleagues. That’s a different subject though. All was fine with my colleagues, just having to deal with a school [read ‘Academy’] system invented in the year 1358 BC was not really my cup of tea and left me utterly frustrated at times. I had the same frustration a few minutes ago but hopefully that will be the last time I ever have to deal with it again…
My colleague Christiaan offered his kind help and it would’ve been so simple if he could’ve done what he offered to do which was picking up the annual tax document from the administration department and send it to me. The document has been sent to my address in the Lowlands though, where I no longer reside *let me count; for 7 months already, duh* and it seems to be a problem to get a copy and give it to my colleague so he can send it to me. Why do simple things have to become such a problem and instant struggle. I have the figures sent to me by email which is okay for now but I might need a copy of the document to send off to the tax people and providing me the copy seems to be a major issue.
Perhaps I was too subtle when I said the year 1358 BC, what I meant to say was; invented in the Stone Age when cavemen used rock paintings to communicate, the year of Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble. Wilmaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
