I’ve been busy designing my stationery and I’m having a ball! I’ve finished a lot and I can’t wait to send it off to the printer as soon as possible. Last week a client told me that they’ve decided to use my website design to brand their whole product range which is great news. I’ve already designed their business cards and I’m currently working for them on a swing ticket design: they’ll be matt black with the floral print in varnish and a white logo, it will be printed in China, it turned out to be much cheaper since they’ll need a start quantity of at least 10.000.
I received a really nice email from another client last Friday, he had asked some of hís clients to have a look at the website I built for him and he forwarded their response to me. Tiny snippet: “I have just had a look at the website and it is very sleek and professional looking, if I ever sort out a website I’ll get her details from you”. Another snippet from another person: “Hi, had a look at it and really like the booking via credit card pages. Guess you’re ready to go!” It’s always good to know that others appreciate your work as well.
This is not just a compliment to me about my design skills but also a compliment to the client, perhaps even a confirmation and/or affirmation that he/she made the right choice in designer. The sun is shining and I’ve just received approval on a quote. I’ve accomplished a lot and I feel good about it, so I’d better crack on with things. I’ve finished the restyling of my logo and I’m really happy with it, below is the final design which I’ll be using for my stationery.

New restyled logo [sorry had to use my watermark…]
The sun is shining (well, not here…it’s snowing) and a happy new Bee buzzing about

Wow! How things turned out with the branding
I like the redesign of the bee! She has a lot of character. I really like the hand on the far left.
I should start using a watermark on my illos that I post online. I may make a stamp in photoshop and just stamp ’em. I hate watermarks but with the way things have been going on the internet with people stealing images, it’s a good idea.
Here’s a website about people ripping stuff off from other people (design-wise):

Thanks for the nice comments on my LJ! I have some more painted projects coming up soon.
I noticed snow the other day
It’s been really nice here for a few days already. Working on my stationery still, I wasn’t really happy with it yet so had to leave it for a while. Branding is cool huh? And I don’t have to deal with printer either, let’s hope the quality will be what I want it to be, that’s always the tricky part especially if no one speaks Chinese…
I’m positive though
Thank you, I’m happy you like it, that’s a big compliment hearing this from the pro
Yes, you should use a watermark, it’s no guarantee but it sure feels a lot safer
Thanks for the link, I didn’t realise it was that bad, I just used the watermark to be cautious but boy there seems to be a lot of ripping going on out there. Hmm, that was an interesting read, I’m kinda shocked to see stuff like that is going on but it’s good that it’s noticed! Hectic…
Curious to see the new projects
Love it!!
You rock girl!
I must agree with Dalton that the bee has a lot of character
“It’s always good to know that others appreciate your work as well”. Definitely.
I am glad for you that you received all that good feedback and wonderful comments.
Aww, you make me blush now *LOL* thanks
I’m happy to hear that you like it! I just received another wonderful comment, yours!
And I’ll keep my promise: I’ll send you some snail mail when I get the results in
