I haven’t had much personal time, hence my absence from blogging but yesterday I felt like taking a break from building websites and have some ‘me-time’. I’ve wanted to change the theme of my blog for a while but never took time to do it. I love theme design and the challenge is to make it work cross platform which most seem to forget about resulting in bad coding and/or design. But then again that’s what makes me stand out *ahem*.
I haven’t written much because I also have to admit that I’m feeling a bit down in the dumps lately. It’s not bad bad but I have lost a bit of zest, mainly because I’m dealing with a few problems. One is a major allergy that has been acting up for two months now causing inflammation. It stops me from running along the canal (workout) and at times even from socialising. I don’t want to go into details but my health is far from good at the moment.
I’m postponing seeing a doctor as usual because I know she will send me to a specialist at the hospital and I’ll end up fighting the symptoms again and not the cause which is typically a scientific and medical approach which I try to avoid if possible. But I have to admit I’m close to being desperate and I want this condition to end asap and the only way to do that is taking the medication they’ll prescribe which is hardcore unfortunately.
It’s a vicious circle; the condition keeps me from sleeping because of the inflammation and because I have no sleep, healing takes forever or the condition aggravates. Okay… enough of that… but it is the main reason for not having the zest to write. So yesterday when I decided to do something for me, I was basically giving myself a gift by taking a break from clients (I have another Flash website lined up from Scotland next week).
So… what do you think? I collect fruit stickers -don’t ask!- and was inspired by the simple design of one so I changed it into my own and that triggered the rest of it… I thought it would be nice to have a green phase for a while. It represents nature, renewal, balance, love, self-control, healing, emotional safety and is soothing… No wonder I chose these colours *wink*. And for the design freaks: all is done in Illustrator…
(ps: don’t forget to clear your browser cache and refresh a few times, it might act pesky on pc *of course* mixing old and new design *hehe*)
Love the new “redesign” Colourful! I love drawing in Illustrator.
I am behind the curve on building websites, as I gave that up awhile back. Burnt-out, I guess.
BTW, I owe you an email! I got the mail you sent with your new cards and such (awhile back) and it’s beautiful. I especially like the spot varnish.
Feel better!

Oh my goodness!! I hadn’t checked your blog this morning or last night and this morning I woke up with the feeling of wanting to change my blog’s picture! (header). I changed it and came to your blog and saw your new design! Great minds think alike
Sorry to hear about the allergy…have you tried homeopathy? or natural medicine?…Maybe it doesn’t work for everyone but I can give alternative medicine a try. In my country I used to go to a Chinese doctor and instead of antibiotics he gave me natural remedies (they were like…bottles full of spices so you can picture it) and it was very good.
Good luck with work. It’s always so important to have some ‘me time’ :)…I hadn’t blogged in a while lately, mostly because I didn’t feel like it (I have been lazy lately) but also due to lack of time…
Have a nice Sunday!
Great minds think alike Yes… they do *hehe* Glad you like it
Allergy: it’s something so severe homeopathy won’t help, I’ve tried most things already Wen, I’m drinking green clay each morning which seems to help (detoxifying…) Your remark about the Chinese doctor made me grin. I know you mean well and you’re really sweet coming up with possible solutions but the Chinese doctor is a no go to me: because of these herbs I nearly died in 2007…
No more Chinese doctor for me… ever… they even warned me at the hospital that I’m now so allergic to one of the herbs that the Chinese doctor prescribed that next time I might not be able to tell again… The doctor at the hospital made it very clear to me not to ever try it again (it was my third time in 2007 but first time in the UK: not that it makes a difference but seven cases are known in the UK where people died from it, I was lucky…)
I noticed you hadn’t blogged in a while and I also noticed the pathetic anonymous commenter: don’t let this get to you, he/her is too daft to even leave a name. If I were you I would’ve let him/her comment and just ignore it completely
I’ll be over in a minute
I had a relaxed Sunday because I had no internet connection for five hours and just got back on, my host was down
so I’m catching up on things now…
Hope you had a great Sunday as well!
Thanks Dalton, I needed a change in colours
Building websites is fun in my case *most of the time*
Nah you don’t owe me, would’ve been nice at the time but it’s months ago already when I sent it… I’m happy to hear you received it though! At least the mail people didn’t screw up this time on either that or the UK side
Thanks again: I’ll try
Quick comment, it’s late here and i’m very tired!
Love the new look of the blog! Very pretty!
And hope your health gets better, us girls don’t have time to be sick, right?
Thanks deary!

No, I can’t afford to be like this *sigh* too much work is waiting to be finished but I wish I had a few nights good sleep that would make a big difference already!
I love the new design! I’ve also been away from blogging these days, even though I have a lot on my mind, but lack of my own computer here in Spain deffinitely proposes some limits :/ Hope you get better soon, I know going to the doctors can be a pain (I loathe them all with passion), but the sooner it’s over with, the better
Hey BC, how are you??? Hope all is great and well! Was wondering about you a while ago and am surprised to read that you’re still in Spain, that means you’re having a good time
I thought you were going to the UK? Anyway: thanks, I’m happy to hear you love the design!
I can imagine that having no computer is slightly limiting
I wouldn’t know what to do without one *hehe* Still didn’t manage to get an appointment at the doctor’s but yes, you are right: I should do this. Especially when I think of what you had to endure, I’m lucky, it isn’t like that over here, so no reasons to postpone
Thanks again for your sweet wishes and I hope you’re having a great time in Spain!
