We’re Here!

Hi dear friends,
it has been a very hectic time and I would like to thank each of you for helping me, supporting me and being there for me! I wish I could’ve seen each of you personally but that was impossible alas. Thanks to Murphy’s Law that seemed to be hunting us for these last three days when some last minute disasters occurred and plans of visiting friends fell apart…
No grief there, I will be back to visit the country and meet up with you and of course there is still the old email option. As you can see, first things first; A. arranged our internet connection today and the telephone line. If all goes well we will have a normal telephone line and a digital one for calling thru the internet which is cheaper and we will also be able to have video conversations etc.
I couldn’t help A. because I really didn’t feel well. I guess some of the stress is coming out. I had a cold, a fever, a bad cough and problems with my lungs. So I stayed in bed most of the day and slept a lot. It started yesterday already with hot and cold flashes when we waited on the airport. We had half an hour delay but there were no handbag restrictions anymore except for checking in lighters which was not accepted.
According to the lady who helped us at the desk there would be a problem this Thursday when we leave the country again to fly to Croatia, but I don’t really want to think about that to be honest… It’s an hour earlier over here and I need to adjust to this change of time still. I’m very tired at the moment and will go to bed soon. We were supposed to have a curry at I. and C.’s place but had to cancel because of me being ill.
I have to admit, when we left the country and I was up in the air, still not high enough to see nothing but clouds but still able to see the little lights and highways, the cars and the cities and of course ‘my’ city, I became really emotional all of a sudden. I had to cry and felt a bit sad finally realising what was going on. But today being here, made me happy and smile when I looked out of the windows in the back and front of the house enjoying the sun, the views of trees, nature, gardens and nice houses.
Although we will be looking for a big house with a huge garden so we can welcome you all, I do feel at home in our current house and for now it is fine! I felt truly blessed to receive all your mails today when I could get online again. Heart warming, thank you guys! And to a special friend; thanks for calling me!!! I did receive your text message when I checked it later.
I will not have time to reply yet; tomorrow will be our last day here because we will go on holiday for two weeks on Thursday but I will reply when we get back, just keep checking on here, I might be able to write a bit while we are in Croatia. For now I wish you a good night and you’re all in my heart and on my mind. Love to you!

Murphy’s Law

“A mathematician, a psychologist and an economist commissioned by British Gas have finally put into mathematical terms what we all knew: that things don’t just go wrong, they do so at the most annoying moment. The formula, ((U+C+I) x (10-S))/20 x A x 1/(1-sin(F/10)), indicates that to beat Murphy’s Law (a.k.a. Sod’s Law) you need to change one of the parameter: U for urgency, C for complexity, I for importance, S for skill, F for frequency and A for aggravation. Or in the researchers’ own words: “If you haven’t got the skill to do something important, leave it alone. If something is urgent or complex, find a simple way to do it. If something going wrong will particularly aggravate you, make certain you know how to do it.” Don’t you like it when maths back up common sense ?”

I need to pack boxes as you probably know by now. Unfortunately I’m feeling ill due to a cold. Don’t ask me how or why but my system ran down for some reason: running nose, watery eyes, fatigue, slight headache, sneezing. Could also be severe symptoms of hay fever though. I have no idea but it does bother me because I can’t do a thing; I start sneezing for at least ten minutes. I’m on a tight schedule and can’t afford to lose time on being ill. I lost time yesterday already because I needed to catch up some sleep for a while.
I couldn’t sleep at all Saturday night. We went back to CH. at 21.30 to drop off some more stuff and then we stayed till two in the morning. We sat outside in the garden. I had to drive back because CH. and AS. had been drinking. It was 02.30 when we went to bed. I slept for about an hour and then I was wide awake till seven. No fun, tossing and turning. It was way too hot in the house! The heat is staying in the house at night it’s still 28°C so if I don’t use a fan in the bedroom then we’ll be awake all night. It’s the second heatwave in July this year and to be honest, I had enough of it. I’m dying for some rain and thunder!!!
I thought I would feel better when I woke up this morning but I guess I was wrong; I’m still sneezing and I still feel drained although I slept quite well. I have a lot to do today but I don’t think I will be able to do it being in a state of constant sneezing. I have to go and sort out my passport and send some stuff through snail mail. All official paperwork. Well I’d better go and do something… I will split the list in half and do some of the stuff today and some of it tomorrow. Talk later, it’s time for me to get started after taking some meds and making my fav chili/ginger tea.
