Watch Time…

My brother came to visit over the weekend along with the kids. He has a pretty high position at a major manufacturer of cars and heavy duty trucks. His daughter -my niece (3 yrs old)- came to me at some point and gave me a beautiful heavy white square box with a logo: it was a gift. I had no idea what it was until I opened the gorgeous box.

All of a sudden I remembered a conversation I had with my bro last time he came over. I’d noticed his beautiful watch and told him that I wouldn’t mind spending money on one like his. At the age of ten my parents bought me a beautiful tiny watch but somehow it must have been cursed, I’ve never gotten it to work properly…

I bought watches over the years but didn’t really use them. If someone asks me what time it is I normally can tell by looking at the sky or sun. I’m pretty accurate too because of years of training *wink* so I didn’t need one. My brother’s watch was something different, I absolutely adore the design: it reminded me of my sleek Powerbook.

So I was astonished to find this beautiful exclusive branded watch inside the box that was given to me by my niece. You can’t just buy these, they’re corporate gifts. This one is also a men’s watch because I like ‘big’ sizes *hehe* It has a genuine leather band and I wear it on the inside of my arm (for protection): just like my dad used to.

I think the watch is awesome and I think I have a pretty awesome brother too *hehe*

Isn’t it gorgeous?

I so love the design!

Black leather band, watch is heavy! *hehe*

Mac Addict

I’d been planning on working on another website design this weekend but I’m forced to stay away from my beautiful G5 for a while. I absolutely dislike having to cut off the power cord cold turkey but I guess my body is warning me to take things slow. I’m having trouble focusing on the screen for three days in a row now.

My right eye has a disturbed vision that contains unformed black and white flashes like a cool artistic graphic moire trompe-l’œil. Unfortunately the immediate effect is not so cool and follows in the shape of an interesting migraine. It’s always amazing to see how life seems to catch up on you if you try to fool yourself into something.

The migraine is bad timing, I’d also planned to do a clean install on my Mac. It’s going to take me at least three days to install each application that I’m using. I’ve adjusted so many settings and prefs. Designed and added brush sets for Photoshop and Illustrator that I’ll need to import all of these again after the installation.

Something I never look forward to because I end up looking for stuff for days, screening all back-ups for brush sets, settings and preferences. Time that I need to use to design instead of getting my machine ready to work for me. But I have had a few kernels and crashes this month telling me that something needs to be done.

It has to wait for now though, I’m gonna quit the Mac addiction for the moment and try to give my eyes and head a welcome break… Let’s see how long I can keep it up *hehe*.
