I’m so getting into using Illustrator again. I’m totally twisted and chaotic, I realise that. But I have been working with this app and I forgot what it was like because I was totally into Photoshop for a very long time… I neglected Illustrator but what a lovely app this is and it is SO much better than it used to be. Jeez what a simple installation or update can cause. Now I wish I had done it earlier, but I reckon there’s a reason for this and I won’t try to dig into that [for now].
I have seen amazing artwork done in Illustrator and I’m eager to learn the technique so I can use it myself. I reckon I will once I start using this app more often. I remember I used to do stuff like the example below but back then it wasn’t as good as it would be now since a lot has changed in Illustrator, I love the mesh tool which seems to be a curse to some designers, I see why but I reckon you should use the tools that are convenient and giving you more options to get the perfect result.
What would’ve limited me in the past is no longer an issue with CS2 and I’m happy to rediscover the use of this app. All I need now is more time to explore it… emoticons/biggrin.gif

I have been working on a business card for a few days. A project I need to finish for a beauty therapist. Her name is Aje which is Nigerian and means surrounded by wealth. I designed a logo for her company and a catch phrase which will be: ‘Surround Yourself By Natures Wealth’. I also have to design a brochure/price list. Working on that.
I finally installed CS2 but found out that the latest FP Filters don’t work any longer and I will be forced to buy them or use them in Photoshop 7.0 [don’t mind buying them, it’s just a bit expensive at the moment; about £200,-]… Perhaps I should buy one a month or so [there are about 20 available] but I reckon I’m too impatient and will buy the lot at some point when I don’t care about the money.
A. bought me 2Gb of memory for xMas which made my G5 speedy! It’s cool to use a fast machine like this especially if you have five apps open at the same time… We are both still not feeling well. A. stayed home Thursday and Friday, he has a high fever and I reckon I passed the bug on to him. I’m feeling a lot better but still not a 100%. We didn’t get out of the house all week and we’ll have to tonight because we’re running out of food.
Got a very long letter in from Barbara, thanks for that, loved reading your email; I will reply this weekend! Also got a letter in from my aunt yesterday, which is probably a birthday card so I won’t open it yet. I received another card from my brother telling us he moved house, will send him a card back, he’s got a cute little house, well… that’s what I gather from the picture on the card.
I’ll be working on the brochure next couple of days and then I’ll be working on my own business website again because that has been dormant for too long now, I really need to get up to speed and finish this project. It’s January… and I want to advertise myself out there, since I feel I’m missing out on opportunities. I want to see what I’m worth in the English job market…
